Heart of Behavior's mission is to provide evidence-based behavior methods, to improve the behavioral health of children, families, and the community to live a healthier happier life. Let’s get to the heart of it!
Expertise and Credentials
Heart of Behavior founder Crystal (Ringenberg) Henderson, M.S., BCBA, LABA, brings over 19 years of experience in educating, training and creating behavior success for children, families and professionals. Heart of Behavior has a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts and registered behavior technicians with a variety of experiences, education and behavior training to meet your service needs.
Our team of trained professionals practice the science of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis). ABA uses the scientific principles of learning applicable to all behavior and/or disabilities. Our services are designed to enhance the quality of life of individuals to meet their needs and to build relationships and independence at home and in the community.
We start with the intake process to review the information you provide of your child or student. The intake meeting consists of reviewing the business procedures and discussing the goals of service.
A Heart of Behavior team member(s) will come to your home and/or the location (e.g., school, sporting activities) to assess the behaviors/developmental areas of concern to create an individualized behavior plan and/or program. We use a comprehensive approach to promote positive behavior change while preventing problem behaviors. We encourage a team approach by openly collaborating with other professionals working with your child for comprehensive care. Through teaching in natural settings, we draw on your child’s interests to make learning fun!
Applied Behavior Analysis
Heart of Behavior uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) which is a science of evidence-based methods to improve behavior. Improving behavior requires decreasing one behavior and replacing it with another behavior. ABA methods teach what to do through positive reinforcement and an understanding of motivation to meet your child's individual needs to create a healthy, safe and enriched learning environment. Everyone is capable of learning!
“Applied Behavior Analysis is the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior.“
